GATA 50/50 Program & HB1055 Many times, members of an organization ask, "What have you done for me in my current situation to make my life better?" Honestly, that is a fair question for any member to ask. In addition to the year-round benefits of an informative website, active listserve, and annual CEU opportunities, our most recent immediate benefit was the formation and successful passage of HB1055 . In summary, this bill was signed by the Governor, takes effect July 1, and clarifies for employers, insurance companies, and even our own practitioners exactly what athletic trainers do on a daily basis. To maintain this current level of success in future legislative sessions, and to better protect the practice of athletic training in Georgia, I would like to introduce the "50/50 Program":
If you are unable to give monetarily in the 50/50 program, then get involved on the local level by assisting one of HB1055's supporters and let them know you appreciate their help and support of athletic training legislation. Posting a few yard signs around town can be very helpful thing to a legislator seeking re-election.
