The OAASS&P at Georgia
State University was established in December of 1990 in the Division of
Academic Affairs. In 1993, it became an integral part of the Division of
Student Affairs and Enrollment - more specifically, a unit of the Dean of
Students Office.
The office serves as
the liason among the Division of Student Services and academic departments
on topics relating to African American students, faculty, staff, and
alumni.

"Friendship, Academics, Culture, Excellence,
Success - FACES for You."

As the office motto implies, the office provides university-wide service
and support programming in many areas. These areas include cultural
enrichment, racial awareness, ethnicity, diversity, leadership training,
organizational development, and institutional resources.
To achieve its goals,
the office sponsors a number of academic, cultural, and social events.
Special interest programs address African American and other minority
concerns. The OAASS&P's programs are complemented with co-sponsored
initiatives.
If you have any
questions, would like more information, or would simply like to get
acquainted with us, feel free to drop by our offices at Suite 315, Student
Center.
